Dear Family and Friends,
We had a fairly good week this week. Yes we had the baptism, and I will explain more of the details and the events that followed it. I will also share some pictures we took.
On Friday we had the baptism of Giovanni German. We were able to participate in preparing him for baptism and teaching him. It was a privilege to be here for that and to see his growth and change that he had made. He said at the conclusion of his baptism that he felt as if his seat was on fire throughout the rest of the night. He received the Holy Ghost yesterday along with the priesthood, of which he asked me to confer upon him, which was a great experience in and of itself too. We were able to meet his adoptive parents and discuss how we can best go about helping Giovanni and if he was sincere about what he was doing, and as we talked with them we expressed that he seemed to have been making full changes and great decisions in comparison to how he was before. At the baptism we also had a current and a couple potential investigators attend. The current investigator Jane Fall expressed to me of her desire to get baptized as well and we were able to set up an appointment with her for this week. As for the other investigators, they too expressed interest in getting baptized after seeing the ordinance.
We participated in an accumulated 6 hours of service in one day for 3 different people. We are in the process of helping a recent convert prepare for his mission too by answering some of his questions and helping him understand the importance and long term commitment it takes to go on a mission. We were also able to teach a very spiritual lesson with our investigator Davaughn, whom we hadn't seen in about a month due to his family being sick. I'm pretty sure we all felt the spirit there and invited him to be baptized. He at first declined, but we explained that we can't know all of the knowledge to get baptized, but that it's a manifestation of our willingness to follow Christ and do as He directs.
