I get to email from Tracy this week. The internet connection at the stake center in Stockton has been down for a while and so we were unable to email there. So we had to come down to Tracy today at the end of our preparation day so that we could email. Kinda stressful, but you now, it's whatever.
We did have that baptism on Saturday. Her name is Susie Mckinney. She is blind, and just moved in one of the assisted living centers in our area. The other set of Elders taught her before we did, so that is why they are there, but we taught the majority of the lessons. Not too much else has happened. We do have a couple of other baptisms coming up in two weeks. One of them, her name is Nesha, had this experience last week that she told us about when we went over for a lesson:
We have been teaching a lady for the passed month or so and have recently committed her to a baptismal date. Along with this baptismal date she has committed to try to stop drinking coffee and tea. We gave her a blessing last Sunday to help her have strength against the desires to break the word of wisdom. A couple days after we gave her the blessing we had a lesson with her at which she shared this experience. She woke up that morning extremely tired and wanted the make some coffee. Much to her surprise, her coffee pot broke while she was trying to make the coffee. So she decided to go try starbucks. Once again, another road block. The line was just too long for her to be patient and wait. Next was at her doctor's appointment, where she knew they would have some coffee. When she asked, they told her that they were all out. No matter where she went, she was unable to have the coffee she thought she so desperately needed. We expressed to her that that was God helping her and giving her a sign that she didn't need to drink coffee anymore. That has been a true miracle to see in the life of one of our investigators.
I am doing well. Keeping up on my fitness and staying healthy and fed. It's great to be on a mission. I love it a lot. I really don't feel like there is anywhere better for me to be right now.
I hope all stays well and everyone stays busy.
Love,
Elder Weber
